I finally figured out how to brew lapsang souchong tea in a way that I like - this is big news because there's a half-full container of it left over from a previous roommate that I've been wanting to actually use instead of throw out 😂 and now I can! The bad news however is that even though I have ADHD caffeine immunity for basically all other teas something about this variety actually affects me. So I can't just drink a lot of it for fun.
Other recent developments: I didn't plan for this to happen but I've been broadening my horror movie horizons this year. My roommates are big horror buffs already so they always watch a bunch in October and I've sat in for a couple - so far it's been, uh. Cronos (1992) and... Goblins 2. And then I went to a movie night with some coworkers where they showed House (1977). I liked Cronos a lot, and completely unrelated to the movie itself I was just delighted to find out that Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman have been working together from the beginning of Del Toro's career. Maybe at some point I'll even take initiative and actually watch Hellraiser on Cori's long-standing recommendation...
I've been watching Gundam 79 as well; technically I watched the compilation movies already but even the first time I did that I could tell I was missing stuff, and seeing Vera and Noah Cazimir watch the series got me all excited to go back to it too. The toddler segments are just as aggravatingly bleak as they were in the movies but at least I just met back up with Ranba Ral 🙏
Also. Metric has a new album out today. Some good stuff in there, although given that it's called Formentera II I can't help but compare it to the first one, and I think I like that one better. My faves off of the new one right now are Just The Once, Stone Window, and Suckers.
