Well I was so excited for my weekend this week and then it turns out I completely fucked myself over instead -___- Thought I was off thu/fri, went to work on wednesday and everything, but I just got an alert from my scheduling app about a shift tomorrow. Texted my manager and we worked out that i was actually supposed to be off wed/thu and somehow I just showed up on wednesday and no one realized i wasn't supposed to be there. But i can't just have off tomorrow anyway because there's too much that needs to get done (pork & lamb delivery among other things) and it was a legitimate error on my end rather than them trying to get me to come in on an actual day off.

Like I could have sworn I got an "incoming shift" alert on tuesday night. I've spent years building a habit that relies on those alerts - I even notice when I don't get one that I'm expecting. But my wednesday punches are notated differently on the scheduling app compared to mon & tues, so like... I guess I really was supposed to be off that day. They're gonna let me do half days on sat/sun to make up for it but still. Ugh. Argh.

Now I'm also upset because I had like. other more positive things I wanted to write down in here but now I can't remember any of them. Uhh one of my roommates bought us all bagels on its way back from work today. That'll be nice for breakfast tomorrow. 

I've also been thinking a lot about the new TF comics. I'm interested in where the story's going and I do love the art but I'm also kind of dreading the fact that GI Joe stuff is apparently going to be involved from the start. I do not and will never care about GI Joe no matter how much they try to rebrand it. Also if I'm being honest I'm still a little miffed that skybound hasn't even tapped Milne or Roche to do a cover yet or anything. Like it's fine on the interiors, DWJ is doing his thing very well and there's no reason to start yanking around the creative lineup before they've even got into a groove yet but man. Milne's been drawing transformers for 20 years and his art has had material impacts on the actual toys sold and you don't want to hire him to draw you a cover? :/

My brother's wedding is at the end of the month and I still haven't been able to find any good shoes to buy for it -____- I mean it's going to be relatively casual for a wedding so things could be worse but trying to find something in my size that goes with the rest of my outfit (dressy coveralls with modified blazer) (so like ideally I get a dressy "work" boot or something) that doesnt cost like 400 dollars is becoming a trial from god. Worst comes to worst I'm probably just going to get a basic pair of Docs since my mom already said that would be ok lol

Oh I beat Bomb Rush Cyberfunk the other day! The story ended up being a little lighter-weight than I thought it would but tbh that works for it I think. The platforming in it really is the star of the game - soooo fun and fluid.

Work is really grating on me lately :/ we don't have half the staff we should (I know everywhere is understaffed these days but this feels really egregious) so naturally instead of bothering to hire people the owner is subjecting us all to a totally unnecessary and overhyped construction project. I'm trying to keep the wise words of our friend Da Share Zone in my head but this situation is a little too complicated for me to Just Walk Out on unfortunately.

I've been trying to make this post for like 3 hours now but my brain has been fried all day because the AC at work is busted and it was 80 degrees in there. It was actually a huge stroke of luck that beef came in so early because we were able to break it all before it got really bad (the specific manner of Busted is that it starts out at the temperature you tell it to be and then just slowly climbs the whole rest of the day), and THEN all our display cases and retail fridges gave up on us so we just ended up closing early lol

Thankfully the HVAC technician actually showed up at the end of it so hopefully everything's more or less fixed by the time my weekend is over. 🤞

Anyway what I actually wanted to post about is how the moment I started using this site again I reverted to my old LJ habits and started trawling music communities for new stuff to listen to. In middle school it was VK and this time it's latin/spanish punk; I've been listening to a few different bands but this one is my favorite so far for sure.
